Knife Scales
|
We occasionally have stabilized blocks that
will produce exceptional scales for your knives. Boxelder
burl (clear stabilized as well as color stabilized), buckeye
burl, exceptional birdseye maple, rib fruited malle, figured
mesquite, black ash burl (clear and color stabilized red, blue
and green), figured maple, exceptional curly maple, maple burl
(clear and color stabilized), and lace redwood burl are
available, to name a few.
Most blocks are cut 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 5" long. Longer blocks are
sometime available. We don't maintain a written list of what is
currently on hand. Please call for availability and pricing. |
The following scales have been commercially stabilized.
Each scale is the indicated thickness.
The blocks were belt sanded (120 grit) and sprayed with clear lacquer.

These curly maple blocks were boiled to speed up their
drying time and were then clear stabilized. The
boiling process turns the wood's color a golden brown.
The blocks are solid and all have a beautiful color and high
figure. |
